A fixture in the L.A. poetry scene since the 60s, Koertge's poem "Negative Space" is a finalist for an Oscar in
Animated Shorts. Ron lives and writes in South Pasadena, and likes to go to Santa Anita and handicap
thoroughbred race horses. He teaches at Hamline University in their low-residency KidLit MFA program. His
most recent collection is the just-released “Olympusville,” which features illustrations by Alicia Kleman.
