Nicolette Vajtay

Writer
Los Angeles
After receiving her BFA from Montclair State University, Nicolette completed her academic training with an apprenticeship at Actors Theatre of Louisville and graduate studies with The American Repertory Theatre’s Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. She made her NYC debut as an actress off –Broadway, then traversed the country for years performing regionally.

She officially started writing in 2003 when she realized she had something to say. She studied Advanced Playwriting under Leon Martel at UCLA Extension School, Playwriting with Terry Dodd and Character/Story with Michael Catlin both at the Lighthouse in Denver, and Creative Writing with Terrie Silverman in Los Angeles, where she now calls home. Her writing is deeply influenced by her spiritual curiosity of this thing called life, and the rich exploration of the human experience.

While Nicolette just completed her first novel, Clinging to Life, she is a multiple award-winning playwright and has been produced with the San Diego International Fringe Festival, NoHo Arts Center, Athena Project, Playwrights Showcase of the Western Region, Colorado Theatre Guild New Voices, Six Women Playwrights, And Toto Too, Bolder Life Festival, The Follies, One Night Stand Theatre, C4 Theatre and Tri-Media Film Festival. Nicolette is a proud member of Actors Equity, SAG/AFTRA and the Dramatist Guild. After each new writing project, she wonders if she’ll ever write another original word; thankfully the muse always comes for a visit.
