Martelle, a member of the Times' editorial board, will publish his sixth work of nonfiction in November,
"William Walker's Wars: How One Man Tried to Conquer Mexico, Nicaragua, and Honduras." His last book
was "The Madman and the Assassin: The Strange Life of Boston Corbett, the Man who Killed John Wilkes
Booth." He's currently on the prowl for his next subject.
