In this interactive presentation, Second City's Kelly Leonard (Author of "Yes, And") weaves together the unusual history of improvisation in America and it's development at the world famous Second City Theatre in Chicago. In addition to backstage stories featuring some of America's best known comic artists, Leonard will lead the audience through improvisational exercises now used by behavioral scientists in the treatment of social anxiety, autism and Parkinson's--all of which find the connection between the recognition of humor and human insight.
Leonard is a longtime creative executive at the world famous Second City Theatre in Chicago and he is the author of "Yes, And: Lessons from The Second City." He works at the intersection of improvisation, comedy and science.
